Tips on Eggs

Eggs may seem easy to handle and easy to boil or cook. But for handling or boiling eggs you have to keep in mind few important things. So, just to get an idea on this browse through the following Tips on Eggs:

Tips on Eggs:
  • It’s better if you use fresh eggs for making poach or fry.
  • It’s easy to peel hard-boiled eggs that have been stored for a week than the fresh ones.
  • For making poach use an egg directly from the fridge as it will not spread out and the yolk will also not break.

  • Break an egg only when you are going to cook it. If you break it much before the freshness of the egg will be lost. Break an egg on a flat plane and not on the rim of a bowl to prevent the small pieces of the egg shall from falling into the mixture.
  • Don’t foam your egg while mixing an egg for increasing texture and taste.
  • Purchase refrigerated eggs only and don’t bring them out until they are used for cooking.
  • Cook well the stuffing and the pasta dishes that include eggs.
  • While steaming eggs try to cover the lower part of the lid with cloth.
  • Always keep an egg outside the refrigerator for some time before you boil them. If you drop the egg into the boiling water directly from the refrigerator the egg may crack.
  • Don’t overcook an egg and make it hard. If you overcook the egg the yolk will be discolored.
  • You can solidify the yolk without boiling it if you place it in a hot water pot for some time. But the egg white remains soft until it is boiled.
  • For testing whether an egg has been boiled completely or not you can put in a toothpick. If nothing sticks to the toothpick the egg is boiled.
