Mexican Cuisine

Mexican Cuisine is referred to the food preparations of Mexico. It is actually a style which was originated in Mexico. It is popular because of the colorfully decorated dishes consisting of different colors and different types of spices.

Mexican Cuisine is largely based on corn along with herbs and chillies and are complemented with squash or beans. These things are combined with beef, pork, wine, chicken, rice along with onions and garlic. These food preparations also use maize, chocolate, vanilla, tomato, pineapple, avocado, chilly pepper, papaya, squash, beans, peanut, sweet potato and also turkey and fish. Totopo, a type pf salted cortilla which is baked in fire oven has also been included in Mexican Cuisine.

Most of today's Mexican Cuisine is largely based on pre hispanic traditions. Lots of colorful vegetables are responsible for the colored cuisine. There is Carribean influence to some extent in Mexican Cuisine.

Some of the sweets and desserts of Mexican Cuisine are platano, ate, jamoncillos, cajeta, coyotas, flan etcetera. Some of the appetizers of Mexican Cuisine are pancakes, bolillos, camote, arroz verde, curtido, fideos, pambazos, salsa, etcetera.



A number of drinks of Mexican Cuisine are famous worldwide. Some of them are mezcal, bacanora, horchata, jarritos, tecquila, chocolate drink, tejate, atole, etcetera.

Main course of Mexican Cuisine consist of buritto, birria, albondigas, different types of caldo along with caldo soup, cecina, carne asada, chilaquiles, chilorio, chorizo, chilli con carne and a lot more.

Mexican dishes vary widely with region which owes to the geographical and climatic differences amongst other factors contributing to it. South Eastern Mexico is famous for chicken and spicy vegetable based dishes. Seafood is also very common for this cuisine.
