Parma Ham

Parma Ham is one of the popular Italian delicacies. Ham is a cured pig leg. Parma Ham is the dried variety. It is often cooked with asparagus. This is a kind of pasta recipe which is prepared to celebrate spring.

The ingredients for Parma Ham with asparagus are as follow:
  • 8 slices of Parma ham
  • 20 green asparagus
  • 11 ounces of spaghetti or linguine
  • 1-1/2 pieces of finely chopped cloves garlic
  • Salt and pepper according to taste
  • 5 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/2 red chilly, which is to be sliced like rings

The method of preparing Parma Ham is as follow:

first and foremost, the asparagus needs to be peeled if it is required and to boil it in a big pot of salted water; be careful not to overcook it. Slice them diagonally after removing it from the pot. Make sure to boil the pasta in salt mixed water for 2 minutes prior to finish the cooking.

Take a frying pan and put olive oil and put garlic and chillies into it and cook till the garlic turns brown. Then add the asparagus and ham and continue heating gently.



In the next step, add 3 tablespoon of boiling water, in which where pasta has been boiled, and continue stirring. Then add the seasoning and serve hot.

The boiling water of pasta is added to increase the flavor of the dish as this water add a saltiness to the dish. It is better if you add a small amount of cooking liquid in the pasta dishes, which prevent the dishes from being very dry.
