Pandoro, the traditional Italian sweet, is eaten in special occasion like Christmas. The sweet is made from yeast bread and is often scented with vanilla essence and decorated with icing sugar. Pandoro is one of the most delicious Italian desserts. Other than flour and yeasts, main ingredients required to prepare this Italian delicacy include sugar, butter and egg yolk and vanilla essence.

Ingredients required to prepare Pandoro include:
  • 2 cups of flour
  • vanilla-flavored powdered sugar
  • 3 ounce of baker's yeast
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 6 ounce of butter
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 teaspoon of grated lemon peel
  • 1 pinch vanilla
  • 4 tablespoon of butter
  • 3 tablespoon of cream
  • 5 tablespoon of sugar

To make Pandoro mix flour, yeast egg yolk and sugar thoroughly and make a dough and keep aside for few hours. Take a pastry board and pour the fermented dough on it. Also mix the butter, yolks and flour in it. Mix well. Keep it for 20 minutes and add vanilla for essence with some grated lemon and 2 to 3 teaspoons of cream. Roll the dough and place a piece of butter in the middle of the dough. Fold the dough in 3 layers while you dust it with sugar. The usual shape of a Pandoro is star shaped, however you can make some variations of your own to give a new look to the Pandoro. Bake the dough in a preheated over at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes. Then minimize the temperature at 325 degrees Fahrenheit and bake till it becomes brown.
