North Indian Cuisines

North Indian cuisines have their own significance. All the North Indian Cuisines are distinguished by their frequent as well as ample use of dairy based products like milk, ghee (clarified butter), paneer, cheese, and yoghurt (yogurt). All these ingredients are very common in any of the North Indian cuisines. There are a wide diversity of foods in the North Indian cuisines. Gravies are an integral part of delicious North Indian dish. Mainly gravies are also prepared with typical dairy-based products. Basically, spices act as the key factors in all of the famous North Indian cuisines. Other most usual ingredients of North Indian cuisines are saffron, chilies and nuts.

North Indian cooking needs some special kind of utensils and techniques. 'Tawa' is often used to prepare North Indian cuisines. It is a cooking utensil consisting of a flat heated surface. Tawa is used for baking flat breads like roti and paratha. Tandoor is also a special type of utensil that is used for baking thick and soft breads like naan, and kulcha. Tandoor is a large as well as cylindrical coal-fired oven. Tandoori chicken is also a famous North Indian cuisine that is cooked in Tandoor. North Indian people also eat some famous breads like puri and bhatoora which are usually deep fried in oil. Besides these, north Indian cuisines also include meats of oat and lamb which are very delicious to eat.
