Tex-Mex

Tex-Mex is a special type of American food. It is mainly a regional cuisine. Tex-Mex is basically a special cuisine that is used in Texas which is located in the southwestern part of the United States on the Gulf of Mexico. Tex-Mex cuisine is very famous in all over the United States. Tex-Mex cuisine is the perfect blend of different food products that are available in the United States. Apart from these, the Tex-Mex cuisine is also highly influenced by the cuisines of Mexican-Americans. Tex-Mex cuisine is also known as the 'Mexican food'. But, outside the state of Texas, Tex-Mex cuisine is also called as the Southwestern cuisine.

According to history, the special cuisine of Texas that is known as Tex-Mex cuisine, is basically originated along with the Tejanos as a composition of Spanish as well as native Mexican foods. The Tex-Mex cuisine was originated in the time when the state of Texas was part of the New Spain and later Mexico. The way of preparing Tex-Mex cuisine is little bit different in South Texas region and in San Antonio. This Texas cuisine had a minimum variation from earlier times and the cuisine had always been influenced by the method of cooking in the northern states of Mexico.



There are several restaurants in United States to offer Tex-Mex cuisines. Mainly, Tex-Mex cuisine is found in numerous independent as well as chain of restaurants in the state of Texas, United States. Chico's Tacos, Chili's, El Fenix, Ninfa's, Taco Cabana, Casa Olé, Pappasito's, Chuy's, El Chico are the most famous chain of restaurants in the United States. Chili's Tex-Mex foods are often considered as Southwestern cuisine. Apart from all the confusions, the Tex-Mex foods are actually very popular in United States.
